Attacking the flag on par 3s to try and give yourself a shorter putt often leads to trouble. A smarter approach is to go for the fattest part of the green and plan for two putts. This approach is safer, but for you to be successful, you’ll need a reliable lag putting technique.
Find ten different 25-foot putt locations on a practice green to the same hole. If more than half of your putts stop outside 2-feet, we’ve got an opportunity to transform your putting.
When you know you can two-putt from anywhere on the green, it removes a lot pressure from your tee shot on a par 3.
